No, you just need to change it a bit.
You're going more toward GaoGaiGear/TTGL mecha, which is bad.
You started out with Metal Gear-esque designs whiche were fuck-damn-awesome, and have since been going more and more over-the-top.
Try to minimalize the super-structure of your mecha designs while maintaining the amount of weaponry, try to make it so the whole thing is 'balanced' like a fork on the edge of a glass of milk.

If anything it's more like Linebarrels of Iron. Which many of his earlier designs would fit in fine with as well.

Also what is wrong with GaoGaiGar's designs? Do you just dislike the show because you know that it's a super robot show even though you know fuck-all about it?

Nope, I just prefer Rand's earlier mecha style. Over-engineering makes the artwork too 'noisy' to be appreciated, much like the part in Transformers 2 where the giant Decepticon was pulling itself together.
